I am an award-winning, dual-Designated Linklater Voice Teacher and Meisner Acting Teacher. I am the world’s first and, up till now, the only designated teacher who can use English, Mandarin and Cantonese to teach the Linklater Voice Method and Meisner Acting Technique. I am China’s first and, up till now, the only Designated Linklater Voice Teacher. I taught at Shanghai Theatre Academy, China from 2018-2021. I teach BFA, MFA and MA students. In the past ten or so years, I have developed my own acting method – the Chu Acting Method. I have studied and collaborated with many different acting, voice and movement teachers in the United Kingdom, China and the United States; hence, the Chu Acting Method has integrated principles from the Linklater Voice Method, Meisner Acting Technique, Chekhov Acting Technique and Alexander Technique. I have also added a lot of my own insights and ideas which makes this Method my own unique perspective of the craft of acting. I highly look forward to spearheading and spreading this Method within China.
