Chu Acting ClassIf you want to discover truthfulness on stage or in front of a camera, find your natural impulses so that you can effortlessly and freely work off the other person from moment to moment, become a flexible actor who can adjust to a director’s requirements, this class is for you! In the past ten or so years, I have developed my own Acting Method – this is the Chu Acting Method. I have worked with many different acting, voice and movement master teachers in the United Kingdom, China and the United States, so the Chu Acting Method has integrated elements of the Linklater Voice Method, the Meisner Acting Technique, the Chekhov Acting Technique and the Alexander Technique. I have also incorporated a lot of my own insights and ideas which makes this method my own unique perspective of the craft of acting. The aims of the Chu Acting Method run parallel with the Linklater Voice Method: learn how to relax and naturally release your voice so that you can simply and effectively discover truthful behaviour; dive into improvisations; learn how to rehearse; how to take care of your own psychological health as an actor; how to strengthen and expand your voice; how to tackle monologues; and how to discover different characters' behaviour and voices.
