Meisner Acting Technique and Chu Acting MethodSanford Meisner’s Meisner Acting Technique is an incremental progression of acting exercises; it is one of the world’s most renowned acting methods. Thirty-seven of Meisner’s students have either been nominated or have outright won Academy Awards*. The Technique’s application is broad, and like the Linklater Voice Method, is suitable for everyone. This Technique trains your sensitivity and powers of observation, thus allowing you to work off the other person and have appropriate and heartfelt responses. It provides an actor with a solid foundation of acting technique. As a dual-Designated Linklater Voice and Meisner Acting Teacher (please see below Certificates) – The above are my Designated Linklater Voice Teacher and Meisner Acting Teacher certificates. I personally feel that a free, flexible and unfettered voice is very important, but even more important is that this voice is able to, at every step, simply, directly and effectively be linked to an actor’s acting technique. Through continual research and adjustment, I have successfully integrated these two techniques. This integrated approach is the foundation for the Chu Acting Method. This Method simultaneously trains an actor’s imagination, voice and body. I very much look forward to sharing with you more of this exciting material. Thank you for reading. Hope to see you in the classroom. Warren Chu *Please refer to: p. 683-685 Carville, James; Trost, Scott (2017). De Tree a We, The Remarkable Lives of Sanford Meisner, James Carville & Boolu.
